Murphy – The Bulldogs had a close loss to Andrews to start the week, but they were road warriors the rest of the time with wins at Highlands and Cherokee.

Murphy’s Dominick Rummler kept the Bulldogs close in the first quarter, as he accounted for six of the Dogs’ nine points. Andrews had three players contributing to their scoring in the first stanza, as they popped for 12 to lead the Dogs 12-9 at the end of one period.

Hernandez tops in SMC

Andrews – Joshua Hernandez, a senior at Andrews High School, was named the Smoky Mountain Conference Soccer Player of the Year.

Dogs drop 2 each on road
