    Members of the Murphy High School Class of 1970 are planning their 50th-year reunion. They need current postal addresses, phone numbers and email addresses for class members.     The NCWorks Career Center, 800 U.S. 64 W. in Murphy is closed to the public, effective March 19. It will continue to provide services to customers virtually by phone and email.     The Polk County, Tenn., libraries in Benton and Ducktown are now open with drive-up service only, effective March 20. The library will maintain regular hours with the drive-up service. Visitors can call ahead and request books and other items. A library staff member will bring the materials out to your vehicle. The library’s high-speed internet connection will continue to be available 24/7 for drive-up use.     Manna Foods will be provided from noon-1:15 p.m. Thursday by volunteers from Andrews Seventh-day Adventist Church and Valleytown Baptist Church of Andrews at the Andrews Senior Center on the corner of Park Street and Main Street.     The fourth Saturday night singing originally scheduled for March 28 at the Martins Creek Community Center has been cancelled due to restrictions concerning the Corona virus. They will announce when the next singing will be held.

May 12
    N.C. Cooperative Extension, Cherokee County Center is offering a “Backyard Poultry Symposium” from 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, at the Extension Educational Classroom, 699 Connahetta St. in Murphy.
