Body

Royse Wayne Brown, 80, of Murphy, went to be with his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Sunday, June 13, 2021, in Knoxville, Tenn. He was surrounded by his family during his final hours.
He was a Marine Corps Vet, a die hard Patriot and One Proud Texan.
Royse was a man of business. He began his career with International Harvester as a parts salesman, then quickly promoted to over-the-road sales representative. After several years, he found himself being promoted yet again to branch manager in El Paso, Texas. He took this experience and applied it in everyday life.
Royse was larger than life and a force to be reckoned with. His sense of humor was boisterous at times, ribald and raunchy. Combined with a quick wit his presence filled the room. His generosity was legendary.
Royse loved Johnny Cash, enchiladas, the Dallas Cowboys, especially during the Tom Landry and Roger Staubach Era, dogs, movies and water skiing. He had been a square dancer, and even called them with his booming bass voice.
Royse was born in Amarillo, Texas, to the late Clyde Major Brown and Lockie Mae Tedford. He was also preceded in death by his older brother, Leamon, and an infant brother who died shortly after birth.
He is survived by his two daughters, Patricia “Patti” Diane Reid and Robin Renee Hogsed; four grandchildren, Joshua Reid, Brandon Reid, Rachel Hogsed and Robert Hogsed; three great-grandchilden, Acelye and Ryan Reid, and Daxton Hogsed; niece, Sandra Kay Wiswell; first cousin and confidant, Bonnie Zora Morton; the mother of his two daughters, Delores Cutshaw; and his best friend for over 40 years, Pete Birdwell.
An irreverent man who will be missed, but fondly remembered by many. A true Cardinal.
A memorial and celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
Townson-Rose Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
