Ray Clifford Dockery, 94 of Murphy, passed away Saturday, June 19, 2021.
Ray was a native of Cherokee County and born Jan. 24, 1927, to the late Wiley and Mattie Hembree Dockery.
He loved farming cattle and had worked for different convenience stores in the area.
Ray was a U.S. Army and U.S. Airforce veteran of World War II. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Leonard, Henry and Allen Dockery; and sisters, Nettie Dockery Rupp, Ora Dockery Yencey, Helen Dockery Coffey and Bessie Dockery Parkhurst.
Ray is survived by his son, Robert Dockery; daughters, Alice Graham, Betty Stiles, Faye Hartness, Helen Dockery Coffey, Peggy Duncan and Monica Allen; sister, Gladys Dockery Davis; 21 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held.
