    Mabel Louise Stiles Cooke, 83, of Murphy, passed away Saturday, Oct. 23, 2021.
    Mabel was born Sept. 13, 1938, in Cherokee County to the late Rev. Fred Stiles and Ethey Gibson Stiles.
    She retired from Clifton as lead quality control.
    Mabel was an avid reader and a volunteer for Compassionate Friends and Good Shepherd Hospice.
    She was a member, Sunday school teacher and treasurer at Mount Liberty Baptist Church.
    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jim Twiggs; her second husband, Leroy Cooke; her son, Ricky Twiggs; her daughter, Jeania Cooke Allman; her brothers, Hadley Stiles and Reid Stiles; and her sisters, Peggy Coleman, Leila Loudermilk and Gladys McDonald.
    She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Twiggs (Donald Hughes); daughter-in-law, Jean Twiggs; brother, Ralph Stiles; grandchildren, Chris Twiggs (Erika), Jeremy Twiggs, Jennifer Twiggs, Heather Farmer, Heath Dockery (Keisha), Cody Hughes (Lashea) and Carrie Hughes; and many great-grandchildren.
    A funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, at Mount Liberty Baptist Church. The Rev. Zack Orton will officiate. Graveside service will be held at noon Thursday, Oct. 28. Pallbearers will be David Stiles, George Dockery, Randy Brown, Randy McDonald, Tyler McDonald and Ronnie Coleman.
    The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, at Mount Liberty Baptist Church.
