Charlie Dickens Bass Jr., 80, of Marble, passed away Saturday evening, Sept. 24, 2022, at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.
Charlie was born Aug. 20, 1942, in Tarboro to the late Charlie Dickens Bass Sr. and Lillie Dean Gaylord Bass.
Charlie enjoyed serving his God, along with his ministry. He was raised in Greenville and had lived in Cherokee County for the past 40 years. He had a green thumb and enjoyed taking care of his beautiful garden.
He and his wife, Kathrine, lived in the beautiful mountains of Andrews and Murphy since 1983 and both worked at Walmart for 22 years until their retirement. His favorite pastime after retirement was spending time walking.
The last 18 months of his life were spent at the Hayesville House. Charlie will be deeply missed by all his friends and family who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Kathrine West Bass.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness in Marble.
