Vernon Hugh Davis, 97, of Murphy, passed away Saturday, Dec. 3, 2022.
Vernon was born in Murphy to the late Fess and Ella Wilson Davis.
He was a supervisor at LTV Steel.
Vernon always made his wife, Gladys, feel loved.
He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist.
He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II and had served in Italy.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Michael H. Davis and Thomas J. Davis; and 12 siblings.
Vernon is survived by his loving wife, Gladys Davis; his grandchildren, David Davis and wife Michelle, Susan Dan and husband Jason, Michael H. Davis II and wife Mindy, Tracy Davis and Courtney Davis; his great-grandchildren, Knoah Chole, Cory, Hanna, Nikolas and Ashley; his great-great-grandchildren, Lailah and Deliah; and special family in Vernon and Glady’s daily life, Peggy Duncan and her significant other, Allen Self.
The family will have a private funeral service.
