    Linda Sue Palmer Phillips went to her eternal home Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2023, after a long and fruitful life.
    Linda was born in Murphy on Nov. 4, 1942, to Noah and Mildred (Lovingood) Palmer.
    Linda lived the majority of her life in her hometown of Murphy. She attended Murphy High School, where she graduated with honors. After a brief time spent in Atlanta, Ga., she returned home to be closer to her family and friends.
    Linda retired from Clifton Precision after 23 years of employment to become a full-time caregiver to her mother.
    Linda was an active member of her church, Hanging Dog Baptist for many years before having to relinquish her duties due to health concerns.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Noah Allen Palmer and Mildred Azalee Lovingood Palmer, and an infant brother Robert Vernon Palmer.
    Linda will continue to be loved and missed by her children: Cindy MacDonald and her husband Skip of Arkansas, and her son, Chris Palmer and his wife Kathy (Jump) Palmer of Murphy. Linda was blessed with wonderful grandchildren she continuously doted on: Ashley Bradshaw (Blake) of Greensboro, N.C., Allison Sedore (Alex) of Maine, Drew and Aaron McDonald (Arkansas) and Gracie Palmer of Murphy. Linda was subsequently blessed with great-grandchildren: Carter, Lawson and Scarlett of Greensboro. Also, four other dearly loved family members (out of town). Linda was also very active in keeping in contact with numerous cousins in other states whom she loved to spend time with and talk to on the phone regularly, as well as many, many friends she meet during her life.
    A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 21, at Hanging Dog Baptist Church with family receiving attendees one hour prior to the service from 1-2 p.m. that day. The Revs. Mitchells Shields and Ronnie Crisp will officiate.
    The family wish to give a special thanks to the entire staff at Clay County Care Center in Hayesville, where she spent the last part of her life due to mobility and health concerns. Special shout out to Sweet Melissa, Raven and Courtney.
